Bio
Gale grew up on the North Shore of Chicago. Her home life was a true catalyst for her imagination, for creating unique worlds in which to escape, a hidden gift that has informed both her acting and writing.
Theatre beckoned her at an early age, and after performing in theatres in Chicago and Shakespeare festivals, she co-founded an Equity national touring company, The Illustrated Theatre. She toured across the United States, in Canada and Europe. Her play Festoons won the Judge’s Choice Nomination for “Best Foreign Production” at Ireland’s Dublin Theatre Festival.
Writing evolved first from creating plays through improvisation with her theatre company, and eventually, the solitary endeavor of writing novels.
Gale earned an MFA in Writing from Hamline University, and a BFA in Acting from the Theatre School at DePaul University. When Gale isn't writing, she edits adult and YA fiction.
To date, she has written a YA novel and recently completed a literary novel. She lives in Bozeman, Montana with her husband, 2 dogs, painted box turtle and twenty-nine houseplants.
